Mr. West released his video for "All Of The Lights" this weekend.
I love this track. I think the instrumentation on it is beautiful.
When I heard there would be a video, the first thing I said was "he better not f*ck it up!"
Even though Rihanna and Kid Cudi were the only ones in the video, Charlie Wilson, Fergie, Rihanna, Elton John, John Legend, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie, Tony Williams, Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi and more contributed to various parts of the song.
“Do you wish to rise? Begin by descending. You plan a tower that will pierce the clouds? Lay first the foundation of humility.”- Saint Augustine
I have this obsession with clouds and sunsets. To me they're beautiful.
There are so many negative connotations about clouds but if you sit and appreciate them, they're one of natures most precious gifts.
They are rather symbollic. I spend a lot of my time free time (which isn't much) just daydreaming.
I don't know about what but my heads are sometimes very far in the clouds. If you ever feel like daydreaming is a bad thing, it's not. Sometimes you discover the most amazing things while you're in your own head.
I may have my head in the clouds, but I always have my feet well set on the ground.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards celebration is known for one thing... Performances!
It was no doubt that this years Grammy celebration was jam-packed with performances from artists from every genre across the board.
While I found the Grammys overall boring and lack luster, I don't think that is a testament to the coordinators, I think that it is a testament to the music being put out... but that is another convo for another time.
Here's one of my favorite performances for the night.
Aretha Franklin Tribute: Yolanda Adams, Lady Antebellum, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, and Florence
The Aretha Franklin tribute was amazing! The performance included renditions from“Natural Woman”, “Ain’t No Way”, “Until You Come Back to Me”, “Think” to “Respect”, “Spirit in the Dark” and “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves.”
Although Christina was doing a bit much for me, Lady Antebellum did her thing. Florence was a bit shaky at first but came through at the end. Jhud looked HOT and sounded equally as epic. She started my tears and Yolanda kept them coming. Yolanda is a beast upon beasts. I love that all the women could sing on that stage together and not try to out do one another.
Mick Jagger's tribute to Solomon Burke:
How old is Mr. Jagger because his swagger is on levels I don't even know how to describe!
Mick Jagger really got into the tribute performance to Solomon Burke, who passed away last year.
He performed Burke's “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” and killed it! He even had help from guitarist Raphael Saadig.
This performance was great simply because Mick gave me his soul on that stage. Loved it!
Coincidently, Jagger has never performed at the Grammys.
For his first time, I think he did a SMASHING job.
Last night were the 2011 Grammys took place. Aside from the music, it is one of the entertainment industry's biggest nights for fashion. While we'd like to believe that everyone came looking fabulous, that is a lie.

Oh you thought your boss was bad? Well mine is BADDER!
Kerin Rose of A-Morir was named one of 32 of New York's best dressed.
If you don't know who Kerin is, she is the woman who takes your favorite artist from "cool" to "GOT DAMN! WHO DAT IS?!"
I'm not lying. She does.
She's an eyewear designer who is amazing at what she does. Her clientele ranges from Grace Jones, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna, to Method Man, Snoop Dog and Will.I.Am.... and everyone in between.
Kerin, or "Boss Lady" as I like to call her, posed in some of her day to day outfits. I swear to God, she does wear these outfits daily lol. I must say, I do agree with Time Out on this!
Her personal style: “I’d call it a finely curated blend of punk, bedouin and glam.” Her inspirations: “Subcultural uniforms, the art of the ensemble, the physicality of garments, and combining color and patterns.” Her signature item: “I’d say either my eyewear or, for the last three years, my red hair.”

Big Sean released his new mixtape "Finally Famous" recently.
I spoke about him recently here. The talented Detroit native is signed to G.O.O.D music and has been working extremely hard to solidify his spot in this ever changing rap game.
His single "My Last" featuring Chris Brown is pretty dope. The beat rocks and his flow is very smooth. Reminiscent of his boss Kanye, Sean's lyrics are not about gang banging and the streets which makes me respect his lyrical content even more.

Valentine's Day is swiftly approachin and for all the lovebirds out there, I've compiled a few cute gifts you could get your sweetie for that special day!
I don’t normally discuss my “feelings”… Or at least I like to think so.
I am not an overly optimistic person when it comes to “Love”. I just don’t know if it exists out there for Sherine. Not in a pessimistic sense however, more like a realistic sense. I make some decisions in my life based on intuition and pure gut feelings but when it comes to matters of the heart I am, admittedly, a coward.
I have never been “hurt” by a lover or cheated on or anything like that; but I have observed the women, both old and young, around me and their situation is not good. I spend so much time being strong for them that I am weak for myself. I will not take the chance of getting hurt so it is probably partly my fault that I am single. Never the less, I am rather cynical about the subject when it has to deal with me.
So last week, I walked home from the bus stop unusually cheery.
A guy was dropping his girlfriend to the bus stop as I got off but I paid them no mind.
I think I was thinking about singing…
Any who, I heard him say “excuse me” so I stopped.
He was on the phone with his girlfriend and he wanted to find out about my boots. Gladly I told him.
She had a question so I spoke to her for a bit on where I bought it etc. In my head I thought “aww, how cute.”
I kept walking then I hear him say excuse me again:
“I have a question, would you like if your boyfriend proposes to you on Valentine’s Day? I want to propose to my girlfriend but I’m so nervous. What if she’s not ready?”
I looked to the sky.
“She would love that. Trust me.”
We went on to talk about how long they’ve been together and I gave him some pointers on how/where to propose, then we parted ways.
I walked away and had to have a quick talk with God.
“God, was that your idea of a joke? Because it wasn’t funny,” I giggled.
I am definitely not one of the ring-hungry women out there but I thought it was a bit ironic that this sweet guy who is super in love with his girlfriend asked me, the biggest relationship cynic, for proposal advice. My advice was genuine and in the moment, all I could feel was love and excitement, like I’d be there myself.
Throwback Thursday is dedicated to the original cast members of Destiny's Child
I loved this group.
Writings On The Wall still remains one of my favorite albums ever.
I tried to pick one but I couldn't decide between these two songs... so I chose both!
Bills, Bills, Bills
Bug A Boo
Lol look at Kobe in the locker room... MCI isn't even a phone company anymore!
Why was I nine singing at the top of my lungs with conviction:
"Realize I don't want youuuu! Trust me i know what you do! Oh yeah! Regret the day that I met you, cause you a bug a boo, you buggin what, you buggin who, you buggin me and dont you see it aint cool!"
Look at the outfits in these two videos. Pleather in one and jeans and cowboy hats in the other... lol so telling of the time.
These two songs & videos are definitely classics for my pre-teen years.
Rihanna released the official video for her song S&M off her LOUD album.
The track is one of my favorites on the album because it's so in your face and unapologetic.
The little feminist in me takes over when the song plays. Anytime, Anywhere!
Rihanna is sexy yet playful at the same time in the new music video, directed by Melina Matsoukas.
I'm glad she took the concept completely left field and made it NOT about sex but about her relationship to the media.
With a song and lyrics like that of S&M, it would have been VERY easy to go down the
"Raunchy-skank-a-dank-dank" road... but she didn't.
Thank you Rih. Thank you.
Although I thank her, other people think differently. According toMTV News, The S&M video has been deemed "inappropriate" on youtube and banned in 11 countries because of it's lyrics.
BBC1 has also decided to play the track only after 7 p.m

Rapper Big Sean cried in Toronto while getting a warm welcome.
He didn't expect so much love/ support from the crowd, and with the support of people he'd been around for years, the moment became overwhelming.
While I don't want a man that will cry every five seconds, I love a man that can shed a little tear when he's overjoyed. Especially him being a rapper, I love that he doesn't have to be so "gangster".
If you don't know who Big Sean is, he's a rapper signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music lable.
Kanye signed Sean after meeting him at a radio station.
Sean snuck in and somehow made it to the back of the station to where Kanye was and begged for a few minutes of his time. He wouldn't take no for an answer so Kanye took a listen and was impressed by him. The rest is history.
I actually got wise to Big Sean from Kanye West's "So Apalled" track. I didn't know who it was rapping but I knew I loved the tone of his voice and the way he played with words.
As you've probably figured out, I am a Nicki Minaj fan. Love her to pieces! She's a nut and i support the crazies of the world.
While sometimes she does drop the "creative vision" ball, she was the guest of this past weekend's SNL show and did a GREAT job!
She was on a worldwind press tour of the UK and Paris, left the Eastern hemishpere to return and jump right into SNL. If that isn't hard work, I don't know what is.
